Ballinger Scholarship - Criteria and Application Process

The daughters of Eric Ballinger, Jillian Bray and Rayellen Chisolm, have contributed fully to the establishment of a Trust Fund, referred to as the Ballinger Scholarship. It is anticipated that funds available from this trust will last approximately 5 years. The aim of this scholarship is to encourage participation in the NZ Nationals for the Ballinger Belt.

Club secretaries may make application to this fund under the following criteria:

Preference will be given to Tyro shooters, but C graders and any 1st time attendee at the Nationals is encouraged to apply. All shooting Classes are eligible, Target Rifle or F-Class. There is considerable expense, time and money needed to attend the Nationals so it is hoped that this will encourage the membership of clubs to identify worthy recipients and to make application on their behalf.

How to apply:

1) Clubs to indentify and nominate suitable Tyro/C Grader or 1st time attendee to the NRA Office no later than 1st December.
2) Council e-mail discussion.
3) Grants will be in the region of the NRA Entry Fee ($250-00) depending on number of nominations received.
4) Nominees notified 15th December.
