Chairman's Report on Seddon Range
5 May 2008

Despite negativity and rumouring by some members, I have great pleasure to advise that last week the contractor and myself met with the Army Certification Team and Measurer and inspected all the work that has been done on Seddon Range. Apart from target Nos. 49-50 where we have a minor issue with the mantlet in front of the of the target storage shed in the butts, which the engineers are working on, and the hill next to Nos. 1, 2, 3 which will be addressed at a later stage, we now have 45 compliant targets to use for International Matches in the near future.

The hydro-seeding on all the bullet-stop and the mantlet was undertaken yesterday and hopefully will ‘strike’ in the next few days.

All that remains is the rest of the number boards to be installed, which is expected to be done either this week or next, hopefully a more detailed report and photo’s will be in the Bullseye mid winter issue.

I wish to apologise to the local members for not keeping them informed of progress, but in the later stages we struck quite a few problems with the final finishes, which were rather sensitive, to work through with the Army and the way the ‘rumour mill’ runs we didn’t want to jeopardise the finished product that we now have.

We can now be proud of the range and await more International Matches.
